Storm Readiness

I'm giving my wife Jilda a shoutout here because of the hurricane rumbling up the east coast. She gives some good ideas for our blog buddies who are in the path of Irene.
If anyone else has storm readiness ideas, please feel free to comment on her blog.

  1. Bottled water and batteries! And be prepared for no electricity.
We're far enough inland we'll only see some wind and rain, but the Outer Banks are going to get hammered.

  6. Everyone be safe and prepared! I'm worried about my daughter in Boston - it probably won't be a big deal by the time it gets up there, but since I'm 3000 miles away I worry. Those south of there, PLEASE be careful and cautious!

  7. Ugh! All three of my kids live in that direction: Charleston, outside of DC, and Orlando.

  8. Rick - Didn't you tell us that you used to work for a phone company?

If so, you might enjoy the tribute I wrote to the guys who go up poles and down holes for the rest of us - on Hurricane Irene's impact.
It is a "hard hat" tribute. :)

    Stay safe - Marsha
