As I sat on the back deck thinking about life and what not, a horsetail cloud inched its way across the sky.
I pulled my iPhone from my pocket, selected the Hipstamatic photo app and shot this photograph.
This last day of September was a productive one for me. I had a lot of things to do, but I'd made a list earlier as I sipped coffee on the couch.
Then things just clicked and I ticked through my list like a machine.
One of the items on the list was to come up with a topic for my column this week so I wouldn't waste time on Wednesday when I normally write it.
As it turns out, Jilda gave me a great idea about Why I like October. When she left for work after lunch, I sat on the screen porch and wrote the column.
I'm so happy with myself that I'm going fishing in the morning. I'll wear my "Fish Fear Me" T-shirts for good luck.
It was postcard perfect here today, too, Rick. I got tons done yesterday afternoon and today. LOVE days like that. Have fun fishing- Diana
ReplyDeleteIt was a remarkable day. Today wasn't bad either.
DeleteHook a bunch of good eating trout. You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI hooked the biggest trout I've ever hooked, but when I got him close enough to pull out of the water, he broke the line.
DeleteThat just means I'll have to go back and try to get him again :)
As always, I enjoyed spending the afternoon with you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks fishducky. Did we have pie with our coffee :)
DeleteThat is awesome Rick... enjoy that fishing... have a great day relaxing :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Launna, it was another great day today.
DeleteBeautiful image! And how was the fishing?
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. Any day on the water is a good day. I didn't catch anything but I hooked a huge trout that broke my 3 1/2 pound test line before I got him in :( It was still a lot of fun.
DeleteLove this photo Rick. We now begin the wonderful month of October :)
ReplyDeleteI saw your FB comment about hair. I had to smile. Mine went south long ago :)
Deletecatch one for me!
ReplyDeleteThe only fish i found from canada yesterday was smelts and salmon so this is what I bought. I love smelts anyway and fried sweet potato.
I've never heard of a smelt. I'll have to look that up.
DeleteDear Fish Fear Me, aka as Rick, if I were writing about why October is my favorite month, I'd mention the crispness of the leaves and the sound of them breaking apart as I walk on them or the sound of water squishing out of them after a rain has fallen on a mat of leaves. I'd mention skies that are apricot right before sunset and the feeling in the air that an era of the year has ended and now we are going into deep winter. Peace.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee, I should have let you be a guest columnist for my column this week :)
DeleteNow that's what I call productive. Sorry that the big fish got away. lol. I think that the fish could read your T-shirt.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo.
