What are we, but tiny leaves?
Green for a while -- we've had our day in the sun
But summer never seems long enough
Then autumn brings change
The world seems different, more finite and fragile
The smells, sounds, scents, and subtle color singe like a brand on our collective memory
Winter will be upon us before we know it
Green for a while -- we've had our day in the sun
But summer never seems long enough
Then autumn brings change
The world seems different, more finite and fragile
The smells, sounds, scents, and subtle color singe like a brand on our collective memory
Winter will be upon us before we know it
I'll miss summer and autumn--such beautiful seasons! Very nice photo!
ReplyDeleteLeaves of grass--now I'll think of Whitman for hours. (That's a good thing.)

Oh yes, so true:
ReplyDeletesinge like a brand on our collective memory
I like that. 'ats one of 'em thangs I wish I had said! (smile) good.
Each day is a gift and with it comes the inevitable change to transform and renew what has been going on for millenniums. Enjoy the beautiful transformation that Autumn is bringing now. A stunning photo.

Dear Rick, yes, there's a chill in the morning air as I walk and I think of the poet's line from the 19th century: "The frost is on the pumpkin." Peace.
ReplyDeleteI love the seasons. Especially Fall.
ReplyDeleteWish I could enjoy it more.
Every day is a gift for us all. That is for sure.
Then autumn brings change -- that's my favorite!
