It's been a slow news day in Empire. The day was steamy HOT and I've been listless. My creative juices are actually flowing backwards right.
I didn't even shoot a picture today which is rare for me. But thankfully I've shot thousands in my life. I didn't shoot the picture below, but my friend Wes shot it a few years ago when we went fly fishing in Telluride, Colorado.
I dreamed of Telluride last night. We were there on the Fourth of July. That night when we went to the park for the fireworks show, we had to wear jackets. As we stood watching the fireworks against the night sky, snowflakes began to fall. It was a beautiful experience and was a stark contrast to that holiday here in Alabama.

Love the picture. Ive never tried fly fishing but think its the neatest thing. Give your mind a rest, tomorrow is a new day.

The heat can make you listless for sure. Nice picture and there are times that dreaming of snow flakes is good... mind you I don't like winter. But sometimes summer has a way of making us love what we hate.
ReplyDeleteWeather? Yep in other parts fo the USA, the weather is confused (according to us southerners). Musta been neat. Definitely one to remember.
ReplyDeleteWhen I grow up, I want to fly fish! Grandson Matt is learning now on the Mt streams of NC.
Right now, snowflakes in July sounds great. I am hating this heat!
ReplyDeleteNice photo Rick, thanks for stopping by today!
ReplyDeleteSnowflakes & fireworks--sounds great!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice memory. Enjoy the listlessness. You will soon be back to furtiveness and writing up a storm. Sometimes it is right to just float.
ReplyDeleteWe are hot here too!!! Great picture!
ReplyDeleteI have a nephew who runs fly fishing tours in Montana. I love the idea of catching fish for sport and then releasing them.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be in a place where I need a jacket. We had a huge thunderstorm this morning. I dreamed that two of the nails on my left hand had green nail polish while all the others still had pink. Ain't life fascinating?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
