We invited Jilda's brother and his family over this afternoon for chili and hotdogs. As an added bonus for the kids, she made a batch of her spice cookies.
A few weeks ago, she showed me a cookie cutter in one of her catalogs. It was a Sugar Skull cookie cutter. It arrived in the mail earlier this week.
When it came in, it was bigger that she realized. Once cut out, the Sugar Skull cookies were as big as my hand.
When we went to the store yesterday, we bought a ton of cookie decorating stuff.
Today, after we ate, she pulled out the cookies and decoration stuff, and the kids headed ot the table on the screen porch.
The kids had a large time, and the results were amazing. Jilda will post a picture of all the kids, but I'm using one of the youngest decorator, Joy.
It's amazing how much fun kids can have with a few sugary cookie decorations and some spice cookie.

I'll bet they had fun eating them too.

I had a laugh over that skull cookie, never seen one quite like that before. Ha ! It is a lot of fun to see kids decorate cookies. We used to do that at Christmastime, but never thought about it for Halloween. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great combination. That skull cookie looks rather friendly and she is looking so focused on doing a great job.

Imma believing Ms Jilda has a lot of fans from the kids gallery. Sweet to think of the kids. Happy Halloween (soon)
