House concert

We had an early performance today. It was drizzling rain when we left and the temps started dropping after lunch. The weatherman said we wouldn't see the sun today.

Our friends played at noon and we went on at 1 p.m. It was an acoustic performance in the Bankhead. The house once belonged to Tallulah Bankhead's parents. It's now a museum of sorts.

They had an exposition entitled The Magic of Music. They displayed every kind of instrument you can imagine. They have live concerts inside the museum and in the amphitheater in the yard. We played inside. The acoustics were remarkable.

After our set, we stood around and talked to those who came. It was a delightful experience. But playing acoustic means there is no sound equipment. The be heard, takes a great deal of energy.

Usually, we would stop somewhere an eat at a restaurant, but Jilda and I looked at each other and without saying a word, I aimed the car for home.

This evening we've been veggies. Since it's rained all day, we didn't take the dogs for a walk. They go out the doggie door and do their business, but that's not a walk.

After we had a nap, I stepped outside to let the big dogs run. I sat on the garden bench in the front yard for a while. They enjoyed it and so did I.

While sitting there in silence, the sun broke through the clouds to the west. It was a beautiful moment.

  2. From my grandsons, who are actually young experts in music, the acustic performance is TOUGH.
You guys deserved the evening alone. So be it. (says the guy with the clothes pin on his nose!) LOL

  4. Beautiful bench! Benches are important items in parks, on streets. I appreciate their presence; it allows me to go on walks , enjoy the outdoors, and sit down on them when I feel tired.

  6. I hope that today you can rest a bit. I'm getting plenty of rest on my vacation. I'm babysitting my grandson in Ottawa and it's been delightful.
    I love that bench.
    Hugs, Julia
