The temps were in the 70s here today. Last night we had the heat on, but by lunchtime, it was almost warm enough to swim.
Each day as we walk we find more things blooming. Today, we saw this tiny bouquet nestled between the roots of a giant oak.
In the hollow, a small dogwood had blossomed out. The flowers were too high in the branches to photograph. I made a mental note to look at the other dogwoods around our property in the coming days.
If you live in the south, keep an eye on the sky tomorrow. We could have some nasty weather.

Oh boy! the things you find in the woods. I took our twin grands sons walking here before I cleared to build and after the short walk one looked up and said, "Thanks for the walk in the forest grandpa!" I know what a forest is, but I will never outgrow 'the woods'.
ReplyDeleteThanks,

You have such a variety of wild flowers. I always wonder what they are called.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy a walk in the wood but haven't been in the woods in long time.
Hugs, Julia
Here in Albuquerque we are experiencing the same ~ the heat on in the morning, and the windows open after noon. It's rather warm in the gym, but a bit too chilly to go about in short sleeves. Still ~ such a welcome reprieve from winter's cold. Some of our trees are blooming, but really, it's just getting started!
ReplyDeleteOur weather is better even though we are still flooded. Still no flowers though.
ReplyDeleteIn that photo, its looks like "Sour Grass". We used to chew on it. But I could be wrong.

Oh I love the picture of these gentle looking flowers with the pretty colour in pastel
ReplyDeleteA walk in the woods is always nice
