Pull the plug

I'm kind of like the old hippie saying, "I'm down to seeds and stems." Tonight my creative vessel is low.

I have a friend who is a veteran that is writing a book. He's 92 and doesn't have the technical skills to prepare it for publication.

I thought it would be a short simple process, but his book is like a history book and it's taking more time than I thought.

I've worked on it several hours today and I'm on the downhill side of the project, but tonight if I were a brain trauma patient, they'd pull the plug.

I did manage to snap a picture of our Bleeding Heart between rain showers this afternoon. It's a beautiful plant that Jilda's grandmother Mamie gave us over 40 years ago.

Each year as winter approaches, we trim it back and bring it inside. It's paid off. Each year it helps beautify our back deck.

  2. I've never heard that saying but it fits! It's been a crazy week and I just went and read your previous posts. You've been busy with writing and I bet this veteran's book will be amazing!

  4. the plant is beautiful. It always amazes the neophyte that people can preserve plants and even remember the origin. Friend Bonnie, who passed too young could/did that also. I guess it is not unusual, but it would be in our family.
Good read, and nice of you to assist an old guy to preserve history.
    NEAT!

  5. You've been working too hard. It's time to give your brain a break. The book will be a treasure for the family. At 92, I can see the urgency in finishing this project.

I hope that today you are fully restored.

Your bleeding Heart vine is lovely.
    Hugs, Julia

  6. The vine is really pretty, it's one of my favorite, that doesn't grow around here. Nice to see a really pretty one.
I know you know, but rest is essential for creative thinking and doing. Good luck on helping him with his book!
