You can't tell by the light because even though dusk comes a little earlier each evening, the quality of the light has not yet changed.
You can't tell by the scent in the air. It's much too hot and dry to burn here.
You can't tell by sounds, because the cicadas and treefrogs have not yet started tuning for their autumn concert.
But the sumac and poplars are "leaving" subtle hints.
Things will begin to change in the coming weeks.
Imma tell you that the cicadas and tree frogs are tuned up in NC, I cna sure picke them up with my Cochlear Implants. OH YEAH!

ReplyDeleteOn this side of the world Spring is hinting that she is not far away. She is welcome. Her ugly sister Summer is not.
ReplyDeleteI hate the heat and wish summer was more like 75-78 F without humidity. this does show that fall is coming and I am always shocked how fast the years go by
ReplyDeleteThe Cicadas are loud here in North Carolina right now. I think the frogs, cicada and even the squirrels carry on a concert at times.
