Wheeling through the Starbucks drive-thru this past week, I had to stop and shoot a picture after I placed my order.
I'm not sure about the name of this ornamental grass, but it was striking. Rolling down my window, I snapped a few frames.
An impatient driver waiting to place her order for her caffeine fix for the day tooted her horn and gave me the palms up, "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING????? CAN'T YOU SEE I'M DYING FOR A CUP OF COFFEE!!!!" look. I'm sure you've seen it before.
I lipped an apology into my rearview, but she was already inching toward the speaker. I get it. I've been where she was sitting before, and I was just as annoyed, but still, I hope like me, she took a moment to admire the ornamental grass there by her window.

Grass has featured in a couple of your photos of his week. It
ReplyDeleteWhoa! My comment got away from me. Now I'm in need of a coffee!

It is lovely - well worth a minute or so in delayed caffeine fix (says the woman who had to give up coffee more than a decade ago).
ReplyDeleteRich, Naughty boy, taking pictures in the drive thru line. LOL I call any of that grass, ornamental grasses. My husband saw some on the golf course one year and asked his friend about it. So his friend calls our house and leaves just a quick "pampas grass". So I tell my husband, "your friend Jeff called and it called you a pompous ass." So I am not allowed to erase messages or take them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHahahaaa...I would have taken more time just to be passive aggressive. What a beautiful shot of these grasses. Maybe the lady behind has had too much coffee
ReplyDeleteOkay, Susie got a laugh out of me. LOL But it is for sure we do not take time to 'Smell the Roses' or notice the beauty around us, AS WE SHOULD to stimulate a better life and smooth our soul.
ReplyDeleteGood one...
Sherry & jack
That is real art!
ReplyDeleteI'd never do it, too slow to think when getting honked at, but giving the cashier a five and telling her to pay for the other car's order would get in the honkers head.
Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses!
ReplyDeleteSome people have tunnel vision.
ReplyDeleteShe needed to get in her zen mode! I'm not a coffee drinker but I see how they get when they have to have surgery and can't have that morning jolt! Love the photo..very worth the few seconds to click the pic!
