The rain moved off to the east yesterday. The clouds moved out just in time for a beautiful sunset. Today has been stellar.
Walking this afternoon, I came across an old bottle next to the trail. It's been hiding there for over 40 years. I know, because I would never have thrown a bottle down anywhere. As I mentioned before, the previous owner rented the farm out to several families through the years, and they did not respect the land, but I digress...
Today as we walked, I saw the bottle. As Mother Nature often does, she makes the best of the situation. She turned the trash into a tiny terrarium. Maybe she was sending me a message in the bottle.
I admired it for a moment, snapped a picture, then I scooped it up and tossed it into the trash at the barn.
Nice one dude, that rings some bells and makes one think. I bet in the later last century, kids made notes and dropped the bottles and jars in the creeks and rivers. I never heard back from one, but I hope someone got as much kick out of those, as I did from the message you got.

A terrarium added to the trash is a change. And sigh at the original litter bugs.
ReplyDeleteKinda hard to see potential in a treasure but then just say "aah" and toss it out. We've all been there.
ReplyDeleteOh so cool
ReplyDeletethat is amazing and such a good find. Who knows how long it's been sitting there waiting for someone to take notice.
ReplyDeleteThat is so irritating to me when people just dump stuff. I was behind a car a few weeks ago--semi-rural road, and they threw a big bag full of McD's trash out of their window. I couldn't believe it and wished I had gotten their license # and reported it--although now sure what good that would have done. lol Stay Safe- Diana
ReplyDeleteWe actually found a message in a bottle on the beach. It had not traveled far before we found it. I wanted to keep it but the message inside was for a mother that had passed away and requested anyone that finds the bottle, to please return it to sea. So we did.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go back and get that bottle you found. How cool that it made a natural terrarium.

The bottom of the bottle is so round. I wonder what it originally contained.
ReplyDeleteI wonder the same thing as Emma. What was in that bottle? I never appreciate litter bugs,

Emma, Julia, It was a non deposit no return Pepsi bottle. That was an invitation to toss it :(
