It has rained on and off for most of the day.
We walked between showers.
The dithering clouds were ash-gray one moment
and white as gauze the next.
The humidity was lickable.
On the second lap,
I noticed a pink Rose-of-Sharon blossom
at one corner of the house.
Before we reached the apple tree
The rain returned.
Beautifully written. I used to say that we could carve out the humid air in Illinois. Such a lovely flower! I have never seen Rose-of-Sharon before.
ReplyDeleteLickable air needs ice cubes!
ReplyDeleteI love your description of your day. Today was a beautiful day of some sun and clouds with a nice breeze and the temp was around 74..perfect.
ReplyDeleteWell I can do Susan above one better. I have seen that flower before, but did not know the name. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell I guess you will send that rain this way, we probably need it.
The best to you guys. You did good on the picture, it is beauiful.

ReplyDeleteHumidity? Bleah.
"Humidity was lickable" … I like that! Having endured desert living so long, I'm still enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI low Rose of Sharon's they are lovely. How nice to have one close by. I used to have them planted like a hedge in my yard and do miss them,
ReplyDeleteIt gets humid up here too. I always feel like I'm molding!
